Recent research activities: Coherent effects at the absorption and fluorescence of atoms in presence of external fields; Laser spectroscopy of atoms in extremely thin cells (d ~ 100 nm) placed in a magnetic field; Creation of cold diatomic molecular gas with large number density; Collision processes in vibrationally excited diatomic molecules with Rydberg atoms; Study of lifetimes of highly excited alkali atoms, collisional processes in these atoms and radiation trapping.

Recent research activities: High resolution laser spectroscopy of diatomic molecules in ground and excited electronic states (NaRb, NaK, RbCs); Energy and dynamic characteristics of diatomic molecules (molecular constants, lifetimes, permanent and transition electric dipole moments, Lambda-doubling); Stark and Zeeman effects in molecules; Optical electric field imaging by electric field induced changes in Rydberg atoms and diatomic molecules.

Experimental  studies in atomic physics,  photochemistry, sources of  UV - VUV atomic spectra, atmospheric photochemistry; high temperature flash photolysis of vapors of various elements and chemical compounds  and  recombination and photorecombination  of  sulphur, selenium, tellurium, tin and lead atoms,  secondary photolysis and photochemical processes in the vapors of tin and lead salts lifetime and branching ratio studies of  excited states of sulphur; selenium. tellurium, arsenic and phosphorus atoms by UV, VUV and laser spectroscopy

Reducing the levels of greenhouse emissions  (NO_x, CO₂) from fuel combustion, global warming, swirling stage combustion, thermal decomposition of fossil fuel, carbon capture and sequestration, electric control of the fuel combustion, formation of NO_x, CO₂ and soot.

Quantum Mechanical Calculations of atoms and ions of IA, IIA, IIIA group: relativistic quantum defect theory, calculations of oscillator strength, photoionization, Dirac-Fok method application.
