Recent research activities: Coherent effects at the absorption and fluorescence of atoms in presence of external fields; Laser spectroscopy of atoms in extremely thin cells (d ~ 100 nm) placed in a magnetic field; Creation of cold diatomic molecular gas with large number density; Collision processes in vibrationally excited diatomic molecules with Rydberg atoms; Study of lifetimes of highly excited alkali atoms, collisional processes in these atoms and radiation trapping.

Research activities include:

Experimental  studies in atomic physics,  photochemistry, sources of  UV - VUV atomic spectra, atmospheric photochemistry; high temperature flash photolysis of vapors of various elements and chemical compounds  and  recombination and photorecombination  of  sulphur, selenium, tellurium, tin and lead atoms,  secondary photolysis and photochemical processes in the vapors of tin and lead salts lifetime and branching ratio studies of  excited states of sulphur; selenium. tellurium, arsenic and phosphorus atoms by UV, VUV and laser spectroscopy
